President Trump has said if Hamas does not release all the remaining hostages from Gaza by midday on Saturday, Israel should cancel the ceasefire, and as he put it, let all hell break out.

His comment came after Hamas announced a delay to releasing the next batch of the Israeli hostages until further notice, accusing Israel of breaking the ceasefire agreement.

He said the emaciated state of the hostages released last weekend was an absolute disgrace, adding that if all the hostages held in Gaza were not returned by Saturday at noon, he would propose cancelling the Israel-Hamas ceasefire and let all hell break out.

Asked to elaborate, Mr. Trump said Hamas would find out what he meant, but that Israel could override his suggestion as it was their decision to make.

He also said he might withhold aid to Jordan and Egypt if they don't take Palestinian refugees who he wants to relocate from Gaza.

The offer is the latest twist in the saga between the world's richest man and the OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman, both cofounded the not-for-profit startup in 2015.
