The movie is based on a true story. Film producer Jonathan Cavendish made the film to honor his amazing parents. It tells the story of Jonathan's father, Robin Cavendish, who was stricken with polio at age 28 but went on to live a rich life. And Robin's wife is always there by his side.

After Robin contracted polio, he was told by his doctors that he would live perhaps only three months. Then he was told that he would spend whatever time he had in a hospital bed.

Hearing this, Robin wanted to die. But his wife told him he had to live to see their son grow up. So he went on living. His wife knew he wanted to escape from the hospital and be treated at home, and she did all she can to help him.

So he left the hospital to live at home, helped develop a wheelchair with a respirator so he could leave the house. And he even very often traveled with his wife, Diana, and son, and lived for 36 more years.

I've accepted the risk of dying. I don't want to just survive. I want to truly live.

And whenever the answer has been "no" for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.
