According to Geek.com, a new study conducted by the University of Bristol found that giraffes might prefer the company of friends during meals.
It was already known that giraffes tend to choose a mate from within their social circle,

and now evidence points to many pairs spending a high proportion of time together while searching for and eating food.
One of the study's lead authors said that an advantage of eating with friends is that "they may be reliable at alarming you if a predator is around."
The pairs may also share the same meal requirements, which makes their foraging and eating behaviors complementary.
