We continued looking through the three-bedroom apartment. There was no sign of any violence, no burglary, no break-in.
我們繼續(xù)檢查三間房的公寓。沒(méi)有打斗、盜竊或闖入的痕跡。
I checked in the master bedroom, and I saw nothing unusual:
我檢查了一下主臥，并沒(méi)有發(fā)現(xiàn)什么異常：
a beer bottle, photos of Bill and Sarah's wedding, some dirty clothes, an old Time magazine.
一個(gè)啤酒瓶、比爾和薩拉的結(jié)婚照、一些臟衣服以及《時(shí)代》雜志。
Next to the bed on the night table there was a bottle of pills. "Anne, what are these pills for?"
床邊右邊的床頭柜上有一瓶藥。“安妮，你知道這些藥是干嘛的么？”
"I think they're for Bill's leg. He messed up his leg playing football in college at USC," Anne replied.
“我想是治療比爾的腿的。他在USC的學(xué)校踢球的時(shí)候弄傷了腿，”安妮回答道。
I put the bottle back on the table and sat down on the bed to think.
我將瓶子放回桌上，并坐在床上思考。
I had no idea what happened to Anne's sister and her brother-in-law. They seem to have just disappeared into thin air.
我不知道安妮的姐姐和姐夫發(fā)生了什么事。他們似乎憑空消失了。
They didn't call anyone. There was no sign of any crime in their apartment. No one at their jobs had seen them for two days. Where could they be?
他們沒(méi)給任何人打電話(huà)。公寓里也沒(méi)有任何犯罪痕跡。這兩天，他們公司同事也沒(méi)見(jiàn)過(guò)他們。他們會(huì)在哪呢？
"Well, Anne, I don't see anything here to help us. I think we should talk to the police again."
“好吧，安妮，這里沒(méi)什么可以幫助到我們的。我想我們應(yīng)該再和警察談?wù)劇！?/p>
