And when the second eye was done I could see much better than before.

Then he made my nose and my mouth.
他又畫出我的鼻子和嘴巴。
But I did not speak, because at that time I didn't know what a mouth was for.
然而我沒有說話，因為在那時候我還不知道嘴能說話。
I had the fun of watching them make my body and my arms and legs; and when they fastened on my head, at last, I felt very proud, for I thought I was just as good a man as anyone.
我好奇地看著他做我的身體，做我的手和腳；當他們最后裝上我的頭時，我感到很自豪，因為我想我簡直就是一個人了。
"This fellow will scare the crows fast enough." said the farmer. "He looks just like a man."
‘他肯定能夠嚇退烏鴉了，’農夫說，‘的確很像一個人。’
"Why he is a man." said the other, and I quite agreed with him.
‘他就是一個人’另一個農夫說，我非常贊同他。
The farmer carried me under his arm to the cornfield and set me up on a tall stick, where you found me.
農民把我提起來，走到稻田里，把我撐在一根竹竿上，就像你看到的那個樣子。
He and his friend soon after walked away and left me alone.
后來，那兩個芝奇金農夫就走掉了。把我單獨留在那里。”
I did not like to be deserted this way. So I tried to walk after them.
“我不想就這樣被遺棄；于是我想跟在他們后面走。
But my feet would not touch the ground, and I was forced to stay on that pole.
但是被強迫吊在竹竿上，我的腳不能著地。
It was a lonely life to lead, for I had nothing to think of, having been made such a little while before.
因為我還是在一刻鐘之前做好的，沒有什么事情可想，過著寂寞無聊的生活。
Many crows and other birds flew into the cornfield, but as soon as they saw me they flew away again, thinking I was a Munchkin;
許多烏鴉和別的鳥兒們飛到稻田里來，當它們看見我以后，以為我是一個芒奇金人，立刻飛走了。
and this pleased me and made me feel that I was quite an important person.
這倒使我高興，我感到自己是一個重要的人物了。
By and by an old crow flew near me, and after looking at me carefully he perched upon my shoulder and said:
沒過多久，一只老烏鴉飛近我，它在仔細地注視著我以后，站在我的肩頭說道：
"I wonder if that farmer thought to fool me in this clumsy manner.
真是好笑，那個農民還想用這個蠢笨的家伙來愚弄我。
Any crows of sense could see that you are only stuffed with straw."
只要是有見識的烏鴉，都能夠看出你不過是個塞滿了稻草的稻草人罷了。’
Then he hopped down at my feet and ate all the corn he wanted.
于是它飛到稻田里，吃著它所想吃的谷粒。
The other birds, seeing he was not harmed by me, came to ate the corn too, so in a short time there was a great flock of them about me.
別的鳥兒們看見它并沒有受到傷害，也飛下來啄包谷粒，所以沒多久就有一大群烏鴉在我的周圍。
