One evening, a few days after the writing had appeared in Charlotte's web,

the spider called a meeting of all the animals in the barn cellar.
蜘蛛召集倉底的所有動物開會。
"I shall begin by calling the roll. Wilbur?" "Here!" said the pig.

"Gander?" "Here, here, here!" said the gander.
“公鵝？”“到，到，到！”公鵝說。
"You sound like three ganders," muttered Charlotte. "Why can't you just say 'here'?
“你這樣叫，聽說去像是三只公鵝，”夏洛咕嚕說，“你為什么不能只說一聲‘到’呢？
Why do you have to repeat everything?" "It's my idio-idio-idiosyncrasy," replied the gander.
你為什么說什么都要重復呢？”“這是我的習慣——習慣——習慣?！惫Z回答。
"Goose?" said Charlotte. "Here, here, here!" said the goose. Charlotte glared at her.
“母鵝？”夏洛說?！暗剑?，到！”母鵝回答。夏洛瞪了瞪它。
