Let's Play the Ukulele!
來彈烏克麗麗!
The ukulele is a fun instrument that isn't hard to play.
烏克麗麗是個(gè)好玩的樂器,而且不難彈。
Most people think the ukulele is from Hawaii
大部分的人以為烏克麗麗是來自夏威夷,
because ukulele is a Hawaiian word.
因?yàn)闉蹩他慃愡@個(gè)名字是夏威夷語。
But the first ukuleles were brought to Hawaii by people from Portugal.
但是第一批烏克麗麗是有人從葡萄牙帶進(jìn)夏威夷的。
In Hawaii, ukuleles quickly became an important part of local culture and music.
在夏威夷,烏克麗麗很快就變成當(dāng)?shù)匚幕鸵魳返囊徊糠帧?/div>
Now ukuleles are popular all over the world.
現(xiàn)在烏克麗麗在世界各地都很流行。
One reason ukuleles are so popular is that they are easy to play.
它們會(huì)這么流行的原因之一是它們很容易彈。
A second reason is that they are usually inexpensive.
第二個(gè)原因是它們通常不會(huì)很貴。
Anyone can play the ukulele, but learning still takes practice and hard work.
任何人都可以彈烏克麗麗,但是學(xué)習(xí)仍舊需要練習(xí)和下功夫。
Ukuleles look similar to guitars, but they are smaller.
烏克麗麗看起來和吉他很像,但是它們比較小。
Unlike guitars, which have six strings, ukuleles only have four strings.
不像吉他有六條弦,烏克麗麗只有四條弦。
Some people think ukuleles are toys.
有些人以為烏克麗麗是個(gè)玩具,
But ukuleles are real instruments that make beautiful music.
但是它是真的樂器,而且可以彈奏出美妙的音樂。
Before you even begin playing your ukulele,
在你彈烏克麗麗之前,
make sure that each of the strings is in tune.
要確定每條弦的音高正確,
This is important.
這很重要。
If the strings are not in tune, the music will sound terrible.
如果琴弦的音高不準(zhǔn),彈出的音樂就很難聽。
After your ukulele is in tune, you are ready to play.
當(dāng)你的烏克麗麗調(diào)好音后,你就可以開始彈奏了。
Take the neck of your ukulele with one hand.
用一手握住琴頸,
Then you can strum the strings with your other hand.
你就可以用另外一只手刷彈琴弦。
When you strum, you brush your fingers across the strings to make a sound.
當(dāng)你刷彈時(shí)就是指用手指橫刷過琴弦來發(fā)出聲音。
People can either sit down or stand up while playing the ukulele.
人們可以或坐或站彈奏烏克麗麗,
But before you try to play a song,
但是在你嘗試彈一首歌以前,
you should learn how to play the chords.
你應(yīng)該先學(xué)習(xí)如何彈和弦。
Once you learn some chords, you are ready to make beautiful music.
你一旦學(xué)了幾個(gè)和弦之后,你就可以彈奏美麗的音樂了。
