We touched on it last week
上個星期我們提及了被動式
and now we'll learn more about passive forms
現(xiàn)在我們要對其進行深入學習
Sentences always have the subject and the verb
句子分為主語和動詞
The subject of a sentence is a person
句子的主語通常是做什么
or thing that is doing or being something
或是什么的人或事物
We look for the verb in the sentence, the doing word
我們尋找句子里的動詞,表示行為的動詞
And then ask who or what it is that the verb relates to
然后詢問那個動詞所關聯(lián)的事物或人物是什么
For example, Jim kicked the ball
舉個例子,吉姆踢了球
The verb is kicked
動詞就是kicked(踢了)
Who kicked the ball? Jim
誰踢了球?吉姆
So Jim is the subject
所以吉姆就是主語
The sentence on screen is also an example of an active sentence
屏幕上顯示的句子也是主動句的例子
The doer of the verb is the subject
動詞動作的實施者是主語
the person who makes things happen
即使事情發(fā)生的人
Jim kicked the ball
吉姆踢了球
But sometimes, we found that the doer of the verb
不過有時候動詞動作的施事者
is not the subject of the sentence
并不是句子的主語
The ball was kicked by Jim
球被吉姆踢了
This is an example of a passive sentence
這是個被動句的例子
Why? Because Jim is no longer the focus
為什么?因為吉姆已不再是句中關注的焦點
the bal is the focus
球才是
