The general statements describe people or situations
一般陳述句用來描述人或情景
To describe a general situation, we use "it is + an adjective + to"
通常一般陳述句會使用 it is+形容詞+to
It's usual to see many birds in the park
通常看能見到很多鳥在公園里
When we talk about people
當我們談論的是人的時候
We use the same form but with “for”
我們用的是同樣句式，但要加個 for
It's easy for people to relax at the beach
人們容易來到海灘上休息
Some adjectives often used in this construction
有些形容詞常常被用在這樣的結構里
include “normal”
比如 normal
It's normal for people to feel nervous at exam time
人們在考試時感到緊張是很正常的事
Common
Common(尋常)
it's common for people to travel at Christmas
人們在圣誕期間旅游是很尋常的事
Ok, it's okay for people to ask questions
Ok(可以) 人們可以提問
Rude ,it's rude for people to ignore others
Rude(無禮的) 人們忽視他人是無禮的
And sensible
還有sensible(明智的)
it's sensible for people to look both ways before crossing the street
人們在過馬路時向兩旁看是明智的
Often we use the “tend”
同樣我們也用tend(傾向于)
and make generalizations
來作一般陳述句
Nice people tend to make the best teachers
善良之人易于成為好的教師
In the negative
至于否定形式
we can say don't tend to or tend not to
我們則用don't tend to或tend not to
Yong people don't tend to read books
年輕人不怎么樂于看書
Most people tend not to cycle to work
縱然有交通有多么堵塞
when there is a lot of traffic
人們還是不樂于騎自行車上班
