Dialogue:

JJ: Hey, Xiao Gao, what cha up to? Did I catch you at a bad time?
京晶：嘿，小高，在干嘛呢？我打擾你了嗎？
XG: No, I’m just rehearsing for an American Idol audition.
小高：沒呢。我正在排練呢，我要參加美國偶像的一個(gè)海選。
JJ: Really? Cool! What song are you gonna sing? I wanna hear!
京晶：啊？真的嗎？你打算唱什么歌呢？
XG: Okay, are you ready? Here it goes: [start to sing somewhere over the rainbow…]
小高：你準(zhǔn)備好了嗎？我這就唱給你聽：（開始唱…在彩虹之上，有個(gè)很高的地方 …）
JJ: Uh… Xiao Gao…? Are you serious?
京晶：嗯……這個(gè)…那個(gè)…小高, 你開玩笑呢吧？
XG: Well… what did you think? How was it?
小高：說說你覺得怎么樣吧？唱得如何？
JJ: How do you think you did?
京晶：那你覺得你表現(xiàn)得如何？
XG: On a scale of one to ten, I think I was probably an 8.5.
小高：如果滿分10分的話，我覺得我的表現(xiàn)達(dá)到了8.5。
JJ: Um… Xiao Gao… I think you might be delusional! I would say a -8.5 is more like it!
京晶：這個(gè)…小高，我覺得你可能有點(diǎn)異想天開了, 也許負(fù)8.5更接近你的真實(shí)水準(zhǔn)吧！
XG: You’re just jealous! You wish you had skills like me!
小高：你這是在嫉妒！你心里有多希望自己能夠唱得和我一樣好！
JJ: Hey, at least I know I’m not good at singing. You should really listen to yourself. You need to wake up.
京晶：不過話說回來，至少我有自知之明，知道自己唱歌不行。你真該好好聽聽你自己，醒醒吧！
XG: I listen to myself every day! I sing in the shower, I sing on my way to work, I sing at work, I sing on my way home from work, I ….
小高：我天天都聽自己唱呢，我洗澡的時(shí)候唱，我上班路上也唱，上班時(shí)也唱，下班路上也唱，我…
JJ: Okay, okay! Geez! I get it! You think you sound good, but you don’t. I’m sorry to break it to you, but singing is not for you! I think you need to go home and practice some more. I’ll listen to you again on Wednesday, and maybe then you’ll sound better.
