Bank of China official clearing bank for yuan in Sydney

The Sydney branch of Bank of China has been authorised as the official RMB clearing bank in Australia, stepping up the use of Chinese currency in international business.

According the memorandum of understanding inked by the two countries' central banks, the People's Bank of China and the Reserve Bank of Australia, China will set up the clearing bank in Sydney to handle transactions denominated in RMB.
