demand for:對 ... 的要求； 對 ... 的需求

The heavy demand for coffee sent the price up.

demand的用法:

1.demand作為名詞時后面可以跟介詞for，表示“需求”。(注意demand作為及物動詞時，其后不跟介詞for。)

2.demand后接that從句，從句應該要用虛擬時態，用should或shall。

He makes the demand that he shall(should) leave the place immediately.[可省略shall(should)，但決不可用leaves或left]

3.demand做動詞時，不能把指被要求的人的詞如him，her做賓語。

I shall demand of him to answer.(句中of不能省略。)
