【詞語用法】
across后常加from，
He lives across (the street) from my house.
他住在我的房子的對面。
與across不同，through是指在三維空間里移動。
We walked across the ice.
I walked through the wood.
【錯句舉例與錯句分析】
錯句：When the green light is on, you're allowed to across the road.
糾正：When the green light is on, you're allowed to cross the road.
翻譯：當燈變綠的時候，你被允許過馬路。
分析：across屬于副詞和介詞，不可作為動詞去表示穿過的意思。

1.across，along，over，through
across: 指“從……的一邊到另一邊”，強調橫過，多與動態動詞連用。

over: 常和動態動詞連用，指“從……上面越過”或“橫越”；表靜態時，指“在彼處”。
through: 側重從一端穿到另一端。
2.across，through，cross
across: 主要表示從某物的表面“橫過”，涉及“面”的概念。
My house is across the harbour，in the vicinity of the Kowloon Park．
我的家在海港的對岸，九龍公園附近。
They live across the Central Plaza.

through: 則表示從某個空間“穿過”，涉及“體”的概念。

二.convince：vt. 使確信，使信服，說服
【詞義辨析】
induce，persuade，urge，convince，counsel，coax
induce: 指用講道理來使某人做某事。
persuade: 普通用詞，指通過勸說、感情交流等而使對方做勸說者所希望的事。
urge: 語氣強，指不斷地、熱情地規勸誘導。
convince: 指憑行動、事實或言語使他人從思想感情上信服。
counsel: 較正式用詞，指對一些較重大事情所提出的勸告。有時也用于非正式場合，但仍強調嚴肅的一面。
coax: 指用好話善意或耐心勸誘、哄騙某人做某事。
【詞語用法】
convince后面可以直接接人，如果表達“說服某人某事”可用“convince…of…”或“convince…that…”的結構。
We hope to convince him of our sincerity.
We hope to convince him that we are sincere.
【錯句舉例與錯句分析】
錯句：Nobody can convince Jane to change her mind.
糾正：Nobody can persuade Jane to change her mind.
翻譯：沒有人能勸間改變主意。
分析：convince表示“使某人確信，信服”，而persuade則表示“說服某人”。
