He connected all the dots; we all owe him our lives.
他弄清楚了事實的真相；我們這里所有人的生命都是他給予的
connected all the dots:字面意思是"把所有點都連接起來了"，
在電影中，這個說法是個比喻，
指"找出了事情的真相"或"找到了通向真相的途徑"。
這里補充一下，dot的意思是"點"，
我們在電腦上作圖時，經常要設置dpi，
那是dots per inch"每英寸包含點數"的縮寫。
owe:是指"欠"，可以指"欠"錢，
例如，He owes me five dollars. "他欠我５美金"，
也可以指"欠"情，
例如，I owe them an apology."我該向他們道個歉"。
當然，電影中"欠"的是命了，
具體的說是owe sb. his or her life.
這是非常特殊的情景才可能出現的。
另外，owe還有一個較生動的用法，
比如說，有些人運氣很好，年紀輕輕就獲得了巨大的成功，
我們就可以說They owe their successes to luck. "他們的成功是靠運氣"。

And he died in vain.
他死得太冤枉了。
in vain：是個固定表達，指"沒有結果，徒勞"，
例如，Our labor was in vain. "我們的勞動毫無用處"。
其中vain作形容詞時是指"沒有結果的"，
如，a vain attempt，"一次沒有結果的嘗試"。

其他死難者同樣死得太冤枉了。
If we start our future with an act of cruelty,

如果我們以殘忍來開始新的生活，你將來怎么跟你的孩子交待。

cruelty：是形容詞cruelty的名詞形式，指"殘忍"，
例如，Britain had laws against cruelty to animals．
"英國有保護動物免遭虐待的法律"。
