George Kills The Dragon
喬治殺死惡龍
The words that the wise old man spoke made George very eager to start out again with Una to find the dragon.
年長智者的話再次激發(fā)喬治和尤娜一同去尋找惡龍的愿望。
Early one morning they set out. When they had gone a long way, they saw before them a great castle upon a hill.
一天清晨，他們出發(fā)了。他們走了很長一段路，終于看到了山上的一座巨大城堡。
Look, Sir George! said Una. "That is the castle in which my father and mother are shut up. The dragon must be near."
看哪，喬治騎士！尤娜說，那就是關(guān)我父母的城堡。惡龍一定在這附近。
As she spoke, they heard a great roar, and the dragon rushed down the hill toward them.
她還沒說完，他們就聽到了一聲巨大的咆哮——惡龍從山上向他們這里沖了過來。
George raised his shield and waited, sword in hand.
喬治舉起盾牌，手里握著劍，等待應(yīng)戰(zhàn)。
Then there was a terrible battle which lasted three days.

But the young knight fought so bravely that at last he killed the huge beast.
年輕的騎士不屈不撓，英勇地戰(zhàn)斗著，最終殺死了這只巨獸。
George then brought Una's father and mother from the castle and told them they need no longer be afraid.
接著喬治從城堡中接出了尤娜的父母，告訴他們不需要再害怕了。
When they looked at the great dragon, they could hardly believe that such a young knight had killed it.
當他們看到巨龍的時候，簡直不敢相信是這個年輕的騎士殺死了它。
From all over the country, people came to look at the dead beast, and everyone went away praising the brave knight.
人們從全國的各個地方來看死去的巨獸，每個人離開的時候都贊揚這位英勇的騎士。
All his lifetime George helped people who were in trouble, and became known everywhere for his goodness and his great deeds.
喬治終其一生都在幫助有困難的人。因為他的善良和英勇，他為世界各地的人所熟知。
People forgot that he was a prince — they forgot where he was born — but they could never forget his goodness.
人們忘記了他曾是一位王子，忘記了他出生的地方，但是他們絕不會忘記他的善行。
The name by which they remembered him is — "Saint George."
人們所牢記的名字就是——圣喬治。
