Not until Clint had seen all the goats in their pens that night did he rest from his duties.

SCHOLARSHIP TO BE AWARDED FROM THIS DISTRICT." Clint's heart beat faster as he read the words.

"Application for scholarship must be made in person." The hand that held the newspaper shook with excitement.

There would be an alertness test—an endurance test; character would score high. The world pilot would cast the deciding vote.

"And I stand a chance!" the boy exclaimed to himself as he went off to his own room.
