Then she came back to Paddy.

Christmas, she said, "is more than holly and evergreen trees. It is more than getting presents, too.

Then all the grown-up bears went back to sleep.

At once Paddy went back to the woods.

First he looked all around until he found a good stick for his father to use when he climbed around the mountains.
首先，他看了看周圍，給他的爸爸找到了一根好用的棍子，爸爸爬山時可以用。
Next he hunted until he found a whole pawful of nuts for Uncle Bear, and some bright feathers for Aunt Bear.
接著，他找啊找，為他的叔叔找到了滿滿一手的堅果，為他的阿姨找到了一些鮮艷的羽毛。
For his mother he cut some branches and made them into a broom with which she could sweep out the dark cave.

All these things Paddy took back to the cave, and, for the last time, he waked his father and his mother and his uncle and his aunt.

He gave them their presents and then laughed and rolled about when he saw how pleased they all were.

"Merry Christmas," he cried.

And Paddy Bear knew that it was really merry, for it made him feel good from the inside out.
