誤：We shall appreciate to hear from you again.

正：We shall appreciate hearing from you again.

析：appreciate(感激)后接動詞時，要用動名詞，不用不定式。

■謝謝你的好意。

誤：I appreciate you for your kindness.

正：I appreciate your kindness.

正：Thank you for your kindness.

析：其后只能接“事”作賓語，而不能接“人”作賓語，此用法與 thank 的用法恰恰相反。

■如果你能幫助我做這事，我將十分感激。

誤：I would appreciate very much if you would help me with it.

正：I would appreciate it very much if you would help me with it.

析：appreciate(感激)是及物動詞，其后不能沒有賓語。另外也有 的詞書(如《朗文當代英語詞典》)將 I would appreciate it if...視為一個固定句型。另外有時其中的 if從句也可能換成 when從句。如：We really appreciate it when she offered to help.(她來幫忙了，我們十分感激)。
