誤：He dislikes to go out with her.

正：He dislikes going out with her.

析：與 like to do sth＝like doing sth不同，dislike(不喜歡) 后接動詞時，在現代英語中通常只用動名詞，不用不定式。盡 管偶爾可見后接不定式的用例，但已屬過時用法，學生應試時 應避免。事實上現在已有不少正規考題都將 dislike to dosth 納入改錯范圍，如1996年碩士研究生入學試題(改錯題)： Some bosses dislike to allow people to share theirresponsibilities; they keep all important matterstightly in their own hands.(注：dislike 后不定式用錯，應改為動名詞)。

■他不喜歡別人對他那樣說話，是嗎?

誤：He dislikes being spoken to like that, does he?

正：He dislikes being spoken to like that, doesn’t he?

析：陳述句部分有 dislike 時，其反意問句的疑問部分要用否定式。類例：It’s unfair, isn’t it? (這不公平，是嗎?)

■我不愛聽你吹口哨。

誤：I dislike when you whistle.

正：I dislike it when you whistle.

析：dislike 在現代英語中通常只用作及物動詞，其后不能沒有賓語。注：上句中 when 從句不能視為 dislike的賓語從句，它是一個狀語從句(when＝當...的時候)，其中的 it 代替 you whistle 這件事。

■我非常討厭打牌賭博。

誤：I have a strong dislike to play cards for money.

正：I have a strong dislike to playing cards for money.

析：在 have a dislike to(不喜歡)中，to是介詞，不是不定式符號。注：也可用 have a dislike for [of](不喜歡)。
