1. Ivy: 常春藤。常春藤聯盟（The Ivy League）由美國東北部七所大學及一所學院所組成。它們為布朗（Brown）、哥倫比亞（Columbia）、康乃爾（Cornell）、耶魯（Yale）、哈佛（Harvard ）、 賓州（Pennsylvania）、普林斯頓大學（Princeton）、及達特茅斯學院（ Dartmouth）。
2. Entry: n. 進入，入口。常搭配介詞to使用。An entry to the station即“地鐵站的入口”。
Entry還可以表示“條目”。如：There are several files, you need an entry for each one. 這里有幾個文件，需要為每個文件提供一個條目。
3. Of one’s choice: 某人的選擇。You can customize(定做，定制) the clock with any background of your choice. 你可以按照自己選擇的不同背景來自己定做你的鐘。
諺語"A burden of one's choice is not felt."表示“自己選的擔子不嫌重”。
4. Of choice: 特別的，精選的。What is your subject matter of choice when you read? 當你閱讀的時候，什么是特別的主題？
5. As of: 自…起。As of now, next steps for the movement are unclear. 到目前為止，這場運動的下一步尚不明朗。
6. Outside world: 外部世界。Living in a countryside tends to insulate us from the outside world.

7. Preach: 說教，說道，鼓吹。Where is the democracy and liberalism they preach to the world? 他們向世界鼓吹的民主和自由在哪里呢？
8. Whoo-hoo:語氣詞，表示高興、激動、興奮。
9. Commence: 開始，著手。The performances will commence in a minute. 演出馬上就開始。
