接到了新工作的面試通知的Becky認為自己終于時來運轉。她滿懷欣喜的打包搬家，興沖沖來到了新電視臺IBS報道。她不知道的卻是接手的欄目是個即將被砍，收視率一直墊底的燙手山芋。團隊成員懶散保守，滿腹牢騷，兩個主播一個有變態之嫌，另一個則是脾氣大的驚人。這不，第一次誠懇溝通就碰了一個硬釘子。

Collin: Do you know how many EP's I've had in the past 11 years? Fourteen. If they're stupid, they get fired, and if they're smart, they quit. And now look what I get.你知道11年來我身邊換了多少總編么？14個。腦子不靈的被人炒，腦子聰明的自己溜。讓我瞧瞧新來的是什么腦子。

Becky: Well... It's a pleasure...很榮幸……

Collin:You think it's fun being in last place? Do you think I enjoy working for a network that spends more on one episode of a dating show about a bachelor dwarf than our entire weekly budget? 你認為當到第一很有趣嗎？你以為我愿意為一個愿意花比我們一整周預算還多的錢去拍一集矮子相親節目的電視臺工作嗎？

Becky: No...

要說這個Collin對自己的工作還是相當敬業的。只是，14年中來來往往數任編導都沒能讓欄目起死回生。希望越大，失望也就越大，也就難怪她會這么不留情的說Becky will fail like everyone else了。我們先來看一下文中幾處語言點。

1. Collin稱節目組就像一個a revolving door of cretinous morons. Revolving door, 就是我們常見的旋轉門。不過，對話中，旋轉門中來來去去的人確是cretinous morons. cretinous白癡的；moron 低能者。

2. 收視率也是in the crapper. crapper，口語用語，表示“廁所”。此處in the crapper表示“處于極糟糕的狀態”。

3. Collin諷刺說，Becky一樣會搞砸，最后留下她pull the train up the hill with her teeth. 字面意思為用牙齒拖著火車上山。既表達了對現狀的不滿，也顯示出相當的驕傲。
