繼上次Langford因為沒有了去紐約工作的機會而有些抓狂的談話之后，兩個人不得不開始認真面對兩地生活的問題。兩個人都盡力聯系到對方城市工作的機會，但是都沒能成功。Langford的老師為她聯系了一家當地的報社，選擇這份工作就意味著兩個人繼續分居兩地。放棄自己喜歡的工作，像上次那樣追隨男友，Langford內心里一定是不開心的。現實很無奈，現實也很殘酷。面對這些無奈，兩個人也沒法心平氣和。于是，吵架成了必然。

Langford: I know that you keep saying that we're gonna figure it out...but we haven't. 我知道，你總說我們會想出辦法。但是我們至今沒有想出。

Garrett: But we will. 但是我們會的。

Langford: But we haven't and we need to make a decision right away. 現在還沒有。而我們需要立刻就做出決定。

Garrett:Okay, well, uh...Yeah, I know. Make a decision, then. 好的。是的，我知道。做個決定。

Langford: Why is this all on me? 為什么都變成了我的責任？

Garrett: What are you talking about, "why is on you"? This is your decision. 你怎么能說“都成了你的責任”呢？這是你自己的選擇。

Langford: So it's all about whether or not I move to New York? What about you moving to San Francisco? 也就是說，這一切都看我是不是要搬到紐約了？為什么不是你搬到舊金山。

Garrett: You kidding? I've been calling shit bags of music labels there for the last month...every day, diligently. I called a label that turned out to be a kid in highschool who's collecting demos from his friends. He didn't even want to hire me. There's nothing. There are no jobs. Trust me, I called them all. 開什么玩笑？ 上個月我一直在給舊金山的那些該死的唱片公司打電話，每天，盡心盡力地。我甚至給一個從同學那兒收集唱片的高中生打電話，但是連他都不肯雇我。什么都沒有。那兒根本沒有工作。相信我，我都給他們打電話了。

Langford: I love that you're fine with me moving to New York and waiting tables...but you wouldn't even think about serving coffee in fucking San Francisco. It's all about what's convenient for you. 你對我到紐約當服務生沒意見，但是你連考慮都不考慮到舊金山端咖啡。什么都要考慮你的方便。

Garrett: Wait. 不能這么說。

Langford: And you hate your job. Fine, I'll just make the decision for both of us. You can just totally leave it all on me. I got it. 而且你不喜歡你的工作。好吧，我來為我們兩個做決定。就一切都丟給我自己好了。我明白了。

在這段對話當中出現了幾次all on me的用法。這個用法中的on一般為blame on，pick on短語省略了前面的動詞，但是保留愿意。常常翻譯為“歸咎于”。比如：The teacher laid all the blame on me. 老師把一切錯誤都歸咎于我。Why on me? It’s not my fault. 為什么怪我？這不是我的錯。

另外，all on sb. 還有“取決于”的意思，本段對話中就是這個意思。比如：Positive or negative, it all ne me. 正面還是負面的結果，全都取決于我。再比如：Please all on you, my best friend. 一切就拜托你了，就全看你了，我最好的朋友。
