call it a day

To call it a day的意思是你工作了一天，到晚上你停止工作回家休息，但是準備第二天再回去繼續完成昨天沒做完的事。說簡單一點也就是：結束一天的工作。下面是一個學生在說他正在為英語教授寫的一份期終報告的進展情況：

例句: "I worked on my term paper until about ten o'clock last night, but got so sleepy I decided to call it a day. I'll finish it this afternoon when I come back from class."
這個學生說：“昨晚我寫我的期終報告一直寫到十點鐘，后來我困不行，就決定不寫了。今天下午上完課我再來把它寫完。”

我們再來舉個例子。這是一個新聞記者在講他當天的工作：
