C'mon, Rich. Let me help take your mind off school! Shelly said, as she switched off the table lamp and moved closer to Howard. "Take a break!"
“來吧，里奇，讓我幫你暫時忘記學校里的事！”謝莉說，她把臺燈關掉，靠近霍華德。“休息一下吧！”
Howard switched the light back on.
霍華德又把燈打開了。
Shelly, he said to her with a frown. "I took a few extra electives this semester so that I would be finished earlier with my studies. I can't take a chance of failing even one! And you know I'm swimming against the tide in a couple of them."
“謝莉，”他皺著眉頭對她說，“這學期我多學了一些選修課，這樣我就能早點畢業。我可不能冒險考砸哪怕是一門課！而且你知道有幾門課我想不隨大流。”
I know, Shelly said as she moved back to her side of the couch. "And I was the one who told you to take the course on designing with synthetic fabrics. I know you hate that class. I just don't like being alone all the time and having our love life take a back seat to school! It makes me want to cry sometimes!"
“我知道，”謝莉說，她回到沙發自己那一邊。“是我叫你學習合成纖維布設計課程的。我知道你不喜歡這門課程。我只是不想老一個人呆著，不想我們的戀愛生活跟學習相比處于次要地位！我有時候直想哭！”
Oh, honey. Don't take such a dim view of things! Rich said softly as he put his arm around Shelly. "And I'm sorry if I take the stress out on you sometimes! But next year I'll be done with all of this and we'll be able to take a leaf out of your books and spend a month on an island vacadon!"
“啊，親愛的。看事情別那么悲觀！”里奇柔聲說道，他用手抱住謝莉。“如果我有時把壓力發泄在你身上，我向你道歉！可是明年我就徹底解放啦，我們就可以以你為榜樣去島上度一個月的假！”
Oh, Rich, really? Shelly said. "I can't wait! An island vacation is synonymous with romance and love! I wish we could go now!"
“噢，里奇，是真的嗎？”謝莉說。“我都等不及了！島上度假是浪漫和愛情的同義詞！真希望我們現在就能去！”
Me too! Rich answered. "But I have to take these tests seriously before we can go. Now get up and please go get some table salt for me—these French fries you made are a little too bland."
“我也一樣！”里奇回答道。“可是在我們能夠去之前，我得認真對待這些考試。你起來去給我拿點佐餐鹽來—你做的這些法國油炸土豆太淡了。”
