133.減肥
Chuck had a hard time keeping fit. He was overweight and it was bothering his wife.
查克為了保持健康可沒少吃苦頭。他體重超常，這讓他老婆很不爽。
She kept in shape even while keeping house, why couldn't he?
盡管她要管理家務，身材仍保持得很好，他為什么就不行呢？
She even started to try to keep away from him at night!
她甚至開始想晚上和他分開睡！
And his kids could hardly keep down their laughter when he took his shirt off!
他脫襯衣的時候，孩子們幾乎控制不住要笑出來！
He knew something had to change.
他知道他得做些改變。
Keeping in mind how no one believed him when he said he was going to diet, he decided to keep his plan from them all.
記得他說要節食的時候誰都不信，所以這回他決定不讓他們知道他的計劃。
Then he started working out during lunch hour at work.
然后他開始在上班的午休時間搞鍛煉。
"Just keep it between the two of us!" He told his secretary.
"這事只能你我知道！"他對秘書說。
And she covered for him every time his wife called when he was exercising.
每次鍛煉時有老婆的電話，她都會替他打掩護。
It was tough at first! He could hardly keep his balance on the running machine!
剛開始的時候可困難啦！他在跑步機上幾乎都無法保持身體平衡！
But he kept on going, keeping faith to his internal desire to lose weight.
可他一直堅持著，恪守著內心希望減肥的信念。
Things started to change slowly. First his wife no longer told him to keep his hands off her!
情況開始慢慢有了變化。首先是他老婆不再告訴他別碰她！
Then she actually seemed to enjoy keeping company with him. His kids were happy, too.
接著她實際上好像已經樂意和他在一起。孩子們也很髙興。
Now Chuck was able to keep at playing sports with them in the back yard.
現在查克可以堅持和他們在后院做運動了。
They even started to talk to him more, keeping him current on all of their relationships.
他們甚至開始更愿意和他交談了，這樣他就隨時都能了解他們的關系。
One day at the store he saw some old friends. They were very friendly.
一天他在商店里碰到了幾個老朋友。他們表現得很友好。
It was then that Chuck realized that they had not kept in touch with him because he had gained so much weight. Now he was thin again!
到這時查克才明白他們過去不跟他保持聯系正是因為他太胖了?，F在他又變瘦了！
His wife finally figured out what was going on. She couldn't have been happier.
他老婆終于明白了事情的真相。她真是太高興了。
And she promised to never keep him from going exercising whenever he wanted!
她保證說，任何時候他想出去鍛煉，她都不會阻止他！
He was so relieved. And so was his secretary. Now she didn't have to lie anymore!
這下他可以放心了！他的秘書也可以放心了。現在她不用再撒謊啦！
