Woman: Hey, Steve, I hear you started a band.

Man: Yeah, I play guitar and some friends and I got together to start making music.

We've been practicing a couple of months and I think we're ready to have a concert.

Woman: Great, are you gonna have the show soon?

Man: Yeah, hopefully sometime in the next couple of weeks.

We're all pretty busy but I think we can squeeze in a show before summer starts and everyone goes away.
我們都挺忙的，不過我覺得我們還是能在暑假開始之前，趁著大家都還沒走，擠出時間來開個演唱會的。
Woman: Cool! Where's it gonna be?
女：好酷啊！你們打算在哪里開演唱會呢？
Man: We wanted to do it in the campus auditorium. We play rock and roll. It's kind of loud so it'd sound great in there.
男：我們想在學(xué)校禮堂里。因為我們唱的是搖滾，聲音有點大，所以如果能在禮堂表演的話，效果會很棒的。
Problem is the auditorium's already booked for the next few weekends.
可是問題是接下來幾個周末禮堂都被預(yù)定了。
Woman: So what are you gonna do?
女：那你們打算怎么辦？
Man: Well, there are no weekends left before summer but there is an opening next Wednesday night, we could do the show then.
男：暑假之前沒有其他周末了，不過下周三晚上禮堂還沒被預(yù)定，我們可以那個時候開演唱會。
Woman: That could be good, I mean, concerts are usually on weekends, but it'll be something fun for people to do in the middle of the week.
女：那也很好啊。雖然演唱會一般都在周末，不過你們放在周三晚上的話，也讓大家在一周中間有了點好玩的事情可以做。
Man: Yeah, that's true. It's just that, well, there'll probably be a smaller audience on a Wednesday which might be kind of disappointing.
男：是啊，沒錯。只是，星期三的觀眾可能會少一點，這樣有點讓人失望。
Woman: Well, yeah.
女：對。
Man: But there is one other option.
男：但是還有另一個選擇。
We're friends with people in another band. They're gonna be performing in the auditorium next Saturday.
我們有一群朋友也組了個樂隊，他們下周六會在禮堂演出。
And they actually said they'd be willing to let us perform with them.
他們實際上說過愿意讓我們跟他們一起表演。
Woman: Wow! That's really nice of them.

Man: Yeah, we'd play for a little while and then they'd play the rest of the night as scheduled.

Woman: Sounds good.

Man: Yeah, only catch is we wouldn't have much time to perform so we wouldn't be able to do all the songs we've been preparing.
