【名詞解釋】：restoration ecology（恢復生態學）：

人類想要恢復已經被破壞了的生物的自然環境，必須試圖恢復以前那片土地的所有因素，lack essential factor可能會導致恢復失敗。

【教授舉例】：教授舉了個例子，美國人要在一個prairie grassland上重新種植plants。科學家先除去weed、然后在草原上撒上種子，但莊稼并沒有長起來，因為唯獨沒考慮加入fire, fire能燒死weed還形成肥料。最后加入了fire后，問題便迎刃而解。

【解決方案】：男生給了兩個解決方案：

方案1: 去房管科housing office投訴complain。但女生認為，這個做法過于正式formal。后果會很嚴重，室友會被趕出宿舍be kicked out of the dorm, 而且室友并不壞she is not a bad person, 這樣would destroy the relationship with her roommate。
