I got a great job offer.
I got a great job offer.(我獲得一份很好的工作)。一份夢寐以求的工作可稱為A dream job,難得的事業(yè)機(jī)會則叫A great career opportunity。
對話
Amy: You look pleased with yourself.
Joe: I am. I got a great job offer and I'm very excited.
Amy: Great! What did they offer you?
Joe: Five hundred dollars to never set foot in their office again. The way I looked was turning their customers away. I could make a career out of this.
You look pleased with yourself.(你看來得意洋洋)。 I got a great job offer。 He appeared as pleased as Punch when he got the job即‘他獲得那份工作,看來洋洋得意’。
A great job offer的offer是‘提出’、‘給予’的意思,I got a great job offer即‘我獲得一份很好的工作’。 His father has got him a fat/plum job in the government(他父親幫他找到一份待遇優(yōu)渥的政府工作)。 She has a cushy job, and spends much of her time in the office reading novels.(她的工作可輕松,經(jīng)常在辦公室里讀小說)。
(1) The president came into office four years ago.(總統(tǒng)四年前就職)。(2) I would like to apply for the position of Advertising Manager.(我想申請廣告經(jīng)理一職)。(3) I hold a blue-collar/white collar job.(我擔(dān)任藍(lán)領(lǐng)/白領(lǐng)工作)。(4) He had a successful career as a teacher.(他長期從事教學(xué),十分成功)。
