He could see the vast, bloody eye sockets, see the mouth stretching wide, wide enough to swallow him whole,
哈利可以看見它那兩個(gè)巨大的、鮮血淋漓的眼窩，看見它的嘴巴張得很大很大，大得簡直能把他整個(gè)吞下去，
lined with fangs long as his sword, thin, glittering, venomous... It lunged blindly.
嘴里露出兩排像他的銀劍那么長的毒牙，薄薄的，發(fā)著寒光，含著毒液……它盲目地沖了過來。
Harry dodged and it hit the Chamber wall.
哈利慌忙躲閃，撞到了密室的墻上。
It lunged again, and its forked tongue lashed Harry's side.
它又撲了過來，分岔的舌頭嗖地掠過哈利的身體。
He raised the sword in both his hands.
哈利用雙手舉起銀劍。
The Basilisk lunged again, and this time its aim was true.
蛇怪又一次撲了過來。這次它的目標(biāo)很明確。
Harry threw his whole weight behind the sword and drove it to the hilt into the roof of the serpent's mouth.
哈利把全身的力氣都運(yùn)到了銀劍上，猛地將它深深扎入蛇怪的上腭，深得直沒到劍柄。
But as warm blood drenched Harry's arms, he felt a searing pain just above his elbow.
然而，就在熱乎乎的蛇血淋透哈利的手臂時(shí)，他感到胳膊肘突然一陣鉆心的疼痛。
One long, poisonous fang was sinking deeper and deeper into his arm
一只帶著毒液的長牙正越來越深地陷進(jìn)他的胳膊，
and it splintered as the basilisk keeled over sideways and fell, twitching, to the floor.
當(dāng)蛇怪痛苦地扭曲著，翻滾到一旁的地面上時(shí)，那根毒牙斷裂了。
Harry slid down the wall.
哈利順著墻壁滑到地上。
He gripped the fang that was spreading poison through his body and wrenched it out of his arm.
他抓住那根正在往他身體里噴射毒液的長牙，把它從胳膊里拔了出來。
But he knew it was too late.
但是他知道已經(jīng)晚了。
White-hot pain was spreading slowly and steadily from the wound.
劇烈的疼痛正緩慢而持續(xù)地從傷口向全身蔓延。
Even as he dropped the fang and watched his own blood soaking his robes, his vision went foggy.
當(dāng)他扔掉毒牙，注視著自己的鮮血慢慢浸透長袍時(shí)，他的視線已經(jīng)開始模糊了。
The Chamber was dissolving in a whirl of dull colour.
密室逐漸消融在一團(tuán)飛速旋轉(zhuǎn)著的昏暗色彩中。
