CHAPTER TWELVE The Polyjuice Potion
第十二章 復(fù)方湯劑
They stepped off the stone staircase at the top and Professor McGonagall rapped on the door.
到了頂上，他們邁出石梯，麥格教授在一扇門上敲了敲。
It opened silently and they entered.
門悄沒(méi)聲兒地打開了，他們走了進(jìn)去。
Professor McGonagall told Harry to wait, and left him there, alone. Harry looked around.
麥格教授叫哈利等著，便離開了，把哈利一個(gè)人留在那里。哈利環(huán)顧四周。
One thing was certain:of all the teachers' offices Harry had visited so far this year, Dumbledore's was by far the most interesting.
有一點(diǎn)是可以確定的——在哈利這一年拜訪過(guò)的所有老師辦公室中，鄧布利多的辦公室絕對(duì)是最最有趣的。
If he hadn't been scared out of his wits that he was about to be thrown out of school, he would have been very pleased to have a chance to look around it.

It was a large and beautiful circular room, full of funny little noises.

A number of curious silver instruments stood on spindle-legged tables, whirring and emitting little puffs of smoke.

The walls were covered with portraits of old headmasters and headmistresses,

and, sitting on a shelf behind it, a shabby, tattered wizard's hat—the Sorting Hat. Harry hesitated.

He cast a wary eye around the sleeping witches and wizards on the walls.
哈利在猶豫。他警惕地看了看周圍墻上那些熟睡的男女巫師。
Surely it couldn't hurt if he took the Hat down and tried it on again?
如果他把帽子拿下來(lái)，再戴在頭上試試，肯定不會(huì)有什么妨礙吧？
Just to see ... just to make sure it had put him in the right house.
他只想看看……只想確定一下它把自己放在了合適的學(xué)院里。
He walked quietly around the desk, lifted the Hat from its shelf, and lowered it slowly onto his head.
他悄悄繞過(guò)桌子，拿起擱板上的帽子，慢慢把它扣在頭上。
It was much too large and slipped down over his eyes, just as it had done the last time he'd put it on.
帽子太大了，滑下來(lái)蓋住了他的眼睛，就像他第一次戴它時(shí)那樣。
Harry stared at the black inside of the Hat, waiting.
哈利盯著帽子黑色的襯里，等待著。
Then a small voice said in his ear, "Bee in your bonnet, Harry Potter?"
這時(shí)，一個(gè)小聲音在他耳邊說(shuō)：“有事情想不明白，哈利·波特？”
"Er, yes," Harry muttered. "Er—sorry to bother you—I wanted to ask—" "You've been wondering whether I put you in the right house," said the Hat smartly. "Yes ... you were particularly difficult to place. But I stand by what I said before—"Harry's heart leapt"—you would have done well in Slytherin."
“哦，是的?！惫磺宓匦÷曊f(shuō)，“哦——對(duì)不起，打擾你了——我想問(wèn)一下——”“你一直想知道我有沒(méi)有把你放在合適的學(xué)院?！泵弊訖C(jī)靈地說(shuō)道，“是的……你的位置特別不容易放準(zhǔn)，不過(guò)我還是堅(jiān)持我原來(lái)的說(shuō)法——”哈利的心狂跳起來(lái)——“你在斯萊特林會(huì)很合適的?！?/p>
Harry's stomach plummeted.
哈利的心猛地往下一沉。
