China Southern Airline Chairman taken for investigation

Chairman of China Southern Airline, one of China's largest carriers, is under investigation for "severe violations of discipline". That's according to an official statement released by China's corruption watchdog, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.

China Southern Airline has the largest fleet size among its Chinese counterparts, and its net profit for the first three quarters has risen on lower fuel prices. The airline's shares on the Hong Kong and mainland markets rose on the back of this news.
