MH370: Wing Section Belongs To Missing Plane
MH370航班或墜入印度洋
A week after the fragment of an aircraft wing was found washed up on the beach in Reunion, and hours after it was examined by experts in France, came the confirmation it was part of the missing Malaysian air jet. What happened to flight MH370 remains a mystery, but where it ended up is no longer in doubt, even if the precise crash site has not been ascertained.

"It is with a very heavy heart that I must tell you that an international team of experts have conclusively confirmed that the aircraft debris found on Reunion Island is indeed from MH370, we now have physical evidence that as I announced on 24th March last year flight MH370 tragically ended in the southern Indian Ocean".

At the weekend the wreckage was flown to France and taken to a military base in Toulouse which specialises in aviation research. It's been examined by staff and the manufacture Boeing as well as French and Malaysian officials who announced themselves satisfied even before detailed analysis has been completed.

The news was not unexpected, once the flaperon which was part of the wing which helps stabilize the aircraft had been identified as being from a Boeing 777, officials were increasingly confident it was from the missing plane: no other Boeing 777 had crashed in the southern hemisphere. Other parts of Reunion are now being scoured in case more evidence is deposited by the currents, but scientists have already plotted the likely drift of wreckage hundreds of miles across the ocean from where the plane is thought to have come down.

Malaysian government said relatives of the 239 passengers and crew were briefed before the announcement, though several relatives told Sky News they had not been alerted.

"It's a very painful thing to go through, not knowing anything".

They will still have many questions which can't be answered until the black box recorders were recovered and that may never happen.
