1.必須:除了用have to表達，還可用be forced to或feel obliged to表達。
2.不局限于:可以使用詞組be not confined to或be not restricted to來表達，其中confine和restrict皆意為“限制，約束”。
3.“更長的假期”:翻譯引號中的內容時可以采用so-called,例如“可以享受更長的假期,”就可以翻譯can enjoy a so-called longer holiday,這樣可以表達出原文諷刺的語氣。
4.以更長的工作周為代價:可譯為at the price of a longer workweek。At the price of意為“以…為代價”，也可用at the cost of來表達。
5.公眾不是很接受這種安排:可譯為has not been well received by the public。其中receive意為“接受，認可”。
6.如果假期是以更繁重的工作任務為代價…:可譯為If holidays are coming along at the cost of an even heavier burden...
7.無力消受:可以理解為“很難讓人從中得到享受”，故譯為be hardly enjoyable。
