《指環(huán)王》The lord of the rings
Griffin B. Literature has also had a profound impact on expressing ethical behavior, as demonstrated in J.R.R Tolkien's fantasy novel The lord of the rings. In the novel, Frodo inherits a ring of great power from his uncle Bilbo and must embark on a perilous quest to destroy it before it falls into the hands of great evil forces headed bu the fearsome Sauron. In his quest to destroy the one ring to rule them all. Frodo realizes that the burden is one that he must conquer on his own. Although aided by many a heroic friend, including the great wizard Gandalf and Aragorn, the king of men, the psychological burden and lust for the ring that Frodo develops is a lonely battle that he must face. After many years of fearsome battle and a deteriorating hope for success, Frodo overcomes the odds and destroys the ring. Fordo's significant accomplishment saved middle earth from imminent death and suffering of the dark forces, thus emphasizing the effect ethical behavior in the name of good can have on the whole of society.
