1. shame
雙語釋義：thing that is regrettable; a pity
[C.N.] 遺憾的事；可惜
語法用法：a shame（表示這個意思是一定要不定冠詞a連用。）

2. complication
雙語釋義：thing that makes a situation more complex or difficult
[C.N.] 使情況更加復雜或困難的事物
典型例句：A further complication was Fred's refusal to travel by air.

3. inherit
雙語釋義：receive (property, a title, etc) as a result of the death of the previous owner

語法用法：~ sth (from sb)

第二、短語精講
1. one’s heir to something
講解：這個名詞性短語，注意heir的后面的介詞一定是to，不能用of。意思是“某人的（頭銜，財產(chǎn)等）的繼承人”，也可以拓展指“某人的（優(yōu)點）承襲者”。
例句：He is an heir to his father's fine brain.
他承襲了他父親的聰明頭腦。
He was the true heir to the estate.
他是這個莊園的合法繼承人。
He fell heir to a large fortune.
他成了一大筆財產(chǎn)的繼承人。
2. push in
講解：push是動詞，意思是“推”，in在這里是副詞，表示“進到（屋子）里”的意思，因此，push in意思就是“推門進來”。
例句：Amos used to push in where he was not wanted.
艾莫斯經(jīng)常不招自來，到處亂闖。
3. get to do something
講解：get to在這里的意思是“逐漸”，get to do something的意思是“逐漸做某事”。
例句：After taking a sedative she was able to get to sleep.
服用了鎮(zhèn)靜劑后，她能夠逐漸入睡了。
She buddied up to Laura, hoping to get to know her brother.

4. come along with
講解：come along的意思是“一道走”，加上介詞with就是“和某人一起走”的意思。
例句：Come along with me . I'm going that way , too.

孩子們跟我來，大家都在等你倆呢。
5. on the train
講解：這是個介詞短語，介詞on在這里表示“方式”，on the train意思就是“乘坐火車”，強調(diào)事件。如果沒有上下文，on the train當然可以表示“在火車上”，強調(diào)地點。
例句：He went to the station for nothing because she wasn't on the train.
他到車站白跑了一趟，因為她沒有坐那趟火車。
We rode through the countryside on the train.
我們乘火車穿過鄉(xiāng)村。
I thumbed through the report quickly on the train.
