China has strongly condemned remarks by the Panama's President in which he voiced support for Japan on the Diaoyu Islands issue. Ricardo Martinelli made the remarks during a visit to Japan. China warned that Japan's efforts to rally support from other countries are in vain, and other countries should not meddle with the issue.

中國政府強烈譴責巴拿馬總統近期發表的針對釣魚島問題支持日本的言論。里卡多·馬蒂內利在訪問日本期間發表上述言論。中國政府警告說，日本試圖贏得其他國家的同情和支持都是徒勞的，其他國家不應在這個問題上插手。

Hong Lei, Spokesman of China's Foreign Ministry, says, "Diaoyu Island and its affiliated islets （附屬島嶼）have been China's sacred territory since ancient times, according to historical and legal evidence（法定證據）. It's in vain（no use） for Japan to attempt to rope other countries into the Diaoyu Islands issue. China also requests other countries not intervene in (meddle with) the issue in any way, and not to harm China’s interests on the issue."

中國外交部發言人洪磊指出，“根據歷史和法定證據，自古以來釣魚島及附屬島嶼都是中國的神圣領土、日本政府在釣魚島問題上試圖籠絡他國，贏得支持，這些都是徒勞的，不會有好的結果的。中國政府還要求其他國家無論如何都不要卷入這個問題之中，不能在這個問題上做有損中國利益的事情。
