【語法用法】
practice在英式英語中只作名詞，動(dòng)詞為practise，而在美式英語中，practice可作名詞或動(dòng)詞，practise很少見；
practice作名詞，前面有形容詞時(shí)，冠詞a可加可不加。
It is (a) good practice to get up early.
早起是一個(gè)好習(xí)慣。
practice作名詞，前面無定冠詞the時(shí)，后跟介詞in，而有定冠詞the時(shí)，后跟介詞of，例：practice in composition，the practice of composition；
practice作動(dòng)詞表示“練習(xí)（樂器）”時(shí)，可直接用practice，或practice (up)on，也可以practice at，例如practice the piano，practice (up)on the piano，practice at the piano；
practice后面跟動(dòng)名詞，而不跟不定式。
You must practice speaking English.

【詞義辨析】
1.drill, exercise, practice, training, discipline
這些名詞都有“練習(xí)、訓(xùn)練、鍛煉”之意。
drill側(cè)重進(jìn)行有系統(tǒng)的，嚴(yán)格和重復(fù)的練習(xí)。
exercise主要指為強(qiáng)壯體魄而進(jìn)行的鍛煉，也可指進(jìn)行練習(xí)以保持已經(jīng)獲得的技巧。
practice指把所學(xué)的理論或知識(shí)用于實(shí)踐以獲得技藝與技巧。
training普通用詞，泛指為從事某種職業(yè)而進(jìn)行的身體或智力方面的訓(xùn)練。
discipline既可指訓(xùn)練又可指為達(dá)到某種熟練程度而進(jìn)行約束。
2.habit, practice, custom, convention
這組名詞一般含義為“習(xí)慣”。
habit指?jìng)€(gè)人的“習(xí)慣”，通常用于表示做事、思考問題或行為舉止的不自覺的方式方法。
That proved to be my undoing, for I soon got back to my old bad habit of dozing off in front of the screen.
