海子（1964-1989），原名查海生，1916年五月生于安徽省安慶城外的高河查彎。
1979年15歲時(shí)考入清華大學(xué)法律系，1982年開(kāi)始詩(shī)歌創(chuàng)作，1983年畢業(yè)后任教于中國(guó)政法大學(xué)。
1983年3月2日，他在河北省山海關(guān)臥軌自殺。先后出版的詩(shī)集有《河流》、《傳說(shuō)》《但是水，水》另外長(zhǎng)詩(shī)《土地》和儀式詩(shī)劇三部曲之一《弒》。
這首詩(shī)的開(kāi)始是對(duì)“幸福”的渴望，以及“幸福”的所指，在詩(shī)中不斷地延宕和消解。生存和經(jīng)驗(yàn)的封閉，局限狀態(tài)，會(huì)助長(zhǎng)現(xiàn)實(shí)虛空感；或者詩(shī)人只能將自己的存在懸系于形而上的層面上。對(duì)于“幸福”的想象感受比起來(lái)，詩(shī)人更多的感受來(lái)自內(nèi)心的追問(wèn)和內(nèi)心矛盾困惑的痛苦。思考的孤獨(dú)感和焦慮感更為沉重實(shí)在，構(gòu)成了海子詩(shī)歌的精神核心。

Facing the Sea With Spring Blossoms
面朝大海，春暖花開(kāi)

From tomorrow on, I will be a happy man.
Grooming, chopping and traveling all over the world.
From tomorrow on, i will care foodstuff and vegetable.
Living in a house towards the sea, with spring blossoms.
從明天起，做一個(gè)幸福的人
喂馬，劈柴，周游世界。

From tomorrow on, write to each of my dear ones.
Telling them of my happiness.
What the lightening of happiness has told me.
I will spread it to each of the them.
