In the bustling heart of New York's Times Square, giant ads for "Ne Zha 2" are stealing the show. Even though the movie's still a few days away from release, most tickets for the screenings are already snapped up, with a few shows completely sold out.

Ne Zha 2 has now outstripped major Hollywood films to become not only the highest-grossing film ever in a single market worldwide, but also the first film ever to cross $1bn in a single market.

Domestically produced and distributed, the film comfortably eclipsed the previous top movie, The Battle at Lake Changjin, and also pushed the original 2019 Ne Zha down into fifth place on the all-time list.

Chinese cinema is dominated largely by domestic titles recently, with only the occasional entry from blockbuster franchises like Avengers and Fast & Furious showing up as popular imports.

在熱鬧繁忙的紐約時代廣場，《哪吒2》的巨幅廣告搶盡了風頭。即使距離這部電影（在海外）上映還有好幾天時間，但大多數場次的票在被人們瘋搶，而有些場次的票早就售罄。

目前《哪吒2》已經超越了好萊塢的大片，不僅成為了全球單一市場票房最高的電影，也是影史上首部單一市場票房超過10億美元的電影。

這部電影由（中國）國內制作發行，不僅輕松超越了之前的中國電影票房冠軍《長津湖》，還將2019年的第一部《哪吒》擠到了影史票房榜的第五位。

最近，中國的電影市場在很大程度上由國產電影主導。而《復仇者聯盟》和《速度與激情》這類很受歡迎的進口大片，只是偶爾才引進國內。
