Grace: Excuse me, are you a student of this university?
格蕾絲：打擾了，請(qǐng)問你是這所大學(xué)的學(xué)生嗎？
Lucy: Yes, I am. Are you new here?
露西：我是。你是新生嗎？
Grace: I'm an international student from China.
格蕾絲：我是來自中國(guó)的留學(xué)生。
Lucy: So welcome to University of Toronto. How are you getting on with your life in Canada?
露西：歡迎來到多倫多大學(xué)。在加拿大的生活怎么樣？
Grace: Fine. It's such a beautiful campus. But the heavy workload is giving me a hard time. And courses are conducted differently from my home country.
格蕾絲：還不錯(cuò)。這里的校園真是漂亮。但是課業(yè)繁重，讓我有點(diǎn)吃不消。而且這邊上課的方式和我們國(guó)家很不一樣。
Lucy: In North America, courses are often comprised of both lectures and seminars. And classroom participation plays an important role in one's grades.
露西：在北美，課程通常既包括講課也包括討論。課堂參與在成績(jī)里也占了很大比重。
Grace: Yes, that's the problem, because Asian students are used to being reticent in the presence of their professors. But nowadays, more and more people are choosing to come to North America for college education. I guess I'll just have to adapt and learn to speak up in class.
格蕾絲：對(duì)了，這就是問題所在，因?yàn)閬喼迣W(xué)生在教授面前都習(xí)慣保持緘默。但是現(xiàn)在也有越來越多的人來北美接受大學(xué)教育了。我覺得我是得改變一 下，在課堂上多發(fā)言。
Lucy: Trust me, it's no big deal. You'll just do fine in time.
露西：相信我，這不是什么大問題。慢慢你就適應(yīng)了。
