Willie: It's Pancake Day! I'll need to eat up my store of meat and chocolate. Such things are not allowed during the next 40 days.

Tiffany: Is there such a day? And why can't you eat meat and chocolate?

Willie: The official name is Shrove Tuesday. Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday. It's the beginning of Lent. As a good Christian, I need to keep away from such self-indulgent foods and wine, too.

Willie: Sort of. Lent is the time when Jesus went into the desert to fast and pray. He was tempted by Satan several times，but he resisted the temptation. Christians would fast during Lent. So I must not be lured by chocolate and alcohol.

Willie: It lasts until Easter, altogether 40 days.

Tiffany: It's quite long. Since you are so enamored of wine, this must be a tough test for your willpower.
