補充一個節目中忘記提的——人行道！它的叫法在各個英語國家會不同：
sidewalk: 人行道，美國的常用講法
pavement: 人行道，英國的常用講法 （Adele有首歌叫做Chasing Pavement）

過馬路有以下這些過法:
crosswalk: 人行橫道 (中文里有時叫斑馬線，其實英語里也有對應zebra crossing，不過在美國不太用就是了)
pedestrain overpass: 人行天橋
underground passage: 地下通道

In many places, jaywalking isn't necessarily illegal, but definitely frowned upon: 在很多地方，亂穿馬路并不違法，不過會遭人鄙視

公車篇

地鐵的各種說法:
metro: 地鐵 (最早是從metropolitan這個詞變過來的)
subway: 地鐵
underground: 地鐵在英國的叫法
tube: 倫敦的地鐵
In San Francisco, the metro is called BART, which is short for Bay Area Rapid Transit: 舊金山的地鐵叫做BART, 意思是灣區快速公交
It's worth noting that when it comes to the subway in NYC, "downtown" means "southward" instead of the center of the city : 在紐約地鐵上“downtown”指“往城南方向” (uptown就是往城北)

美國距離用英里
Canadians use kilometers, while Americnas use miles: 加拿大用千米，美國人用的是英里
One mile is the equivalent of roughly 1.6 kilometers: 一英里差不多是1.6千米
foot/feet: 英尺
inch/inches: 英寸
yard/yards: 一碼
If you use Google Maps, you can change the measurement from "mile" to "kilometer" in settings: 如果你用谷歌地圖，可以在設置里把度量單位從英里改成千米

如果你在美國開車，那你首先要搞清在美國有哪些路:
urban roads: 城市道路
highway: 高速公路
freeway/expressway: 也是高速公路，口語里基本跟highway混著用了，具體不同
toll road/toll bridge: 收費路段/收費大橋

Freeways and expressways usually have multiple lanes: Freeway和expressway一般車道比較多
