今天的學(xué)習(xí)我們從一個短語開始——make no mistake about it。
1. Make no mistake (about it), if we don't address these problems now, they will only get worse.
Make no mistake about it,我們知道m(xù)istake表示“錯誤”,是個名詞。 Make no mistake about it來表示“絕對就是這樣”或者“完全可以肯定”。Make no mistake (about it), if we don't address these problems now, they will only get worse. Make no mistake (about it)放在句首,起到強(qiáng)調(diào)的作用。
2. Look to it that you make no more similar mistakes.
Look to it表示“當(dāng)心,注意”,后面可以加that連接的從句,比如Look to it that you are not late again. Make mistake剛剛講過了,表示犯錯,make similar mistakes指“犯相同的錯誤,”no more不再。Look to it that you make no more similar mistakes.
3. It really depends on who's in charge.
I have no one but you to depend on. It really depends on who's in charge. In charge 表示“負(fù)責(zé),主管”,如果要說明具體負(fù)責(zé)的項(xiàng)目,加介詞of,比如:I am in charge of financial affairs. Who’s in charge 指的是負(fù)責(zé)的那個人。 It really depends on who's in charge.
