舊物
One old thing in my home is an old pocket watch,which is also a gift from my grandfather . I cherish it very much,because it reminds me of my grandfather.
我家里的一個古老的東西要數(shù)我爺爺給我的禮物，那就是一只懷表，我非常珍惜它，因為它使我想起了我的爺爺。
I received the watch when I entered high school. My grandfather wasn't wealthy and he wanted to give me something important to celebrate my graduation from junior high school. In fact he didn't have to. He loved this watch very much. I know this because I remember one day when the watch wasn ' t working properly,he was in quite a panic. I always wondered what was so special about the watch. It looked com-mon, and not worthwhile. When my grandfather sent me this watch I had a digital wristwatch,which was more charming. I put the pocket watch in the drawer and almost forgot it.
在我上高中的時候我爺爺給了我這只表，那時的他并不富裕，只是想給我一些值得紀念的東西慶祝一下我初中畢業(yè)。事實上他不必如此。我知道他非常喜歡這塊手表，因為我記得有一次那塊手表壞了的時候他非常傷心。我總是很想知道為什么這塊表對他來說這么特別。它只是一只非常普通的不值錢的表而已。當我爺爺送我他的這只表的時候，我已經(jīng)擁有了自己的一塊非常漂亮的數(shù)字表。我把表放在抽屜里幾乎忘記了它的存在。
One year ago my grandfather passed away. When I tidied up the drawer I saw the pocket watch. I asked my father about the watch. My father told me that it was passed from my greatgrandfather. The family was very poor when my grandfather was a child. In order to afford my grandfather's tuition fee my great-grandfather pawned the watch... the only valued thing in the family. After my grandfather graduated and earned money,he redeemed the watch and kept it from then on. My grandfather sent it to me,wishing I worked hard to become a useful person in the future.
一年前我爺爺去世了，當我拉開抽屜看到表的時候，我問我爸爸有關(guān)表的事情。爸爸說這是我的曾祖父留下來的東西，我爺爺小時候家里比較窮，為了支付我爺爺?shù)膶W費，我的曾祖父就當?shù)袅吮恚菚r的表是家里唯一最值錢的東西。我爺爺畢業(yè)后掙錢了就贖回了表然后把它送給我，希望我努力學習將來成為一個有用 的人。
Now I take the watch with me. It seems to carry the soul of my grandfather.
