Hello. My name is Emma, and in today's video, we are going to be looking at the IELTS, that scary test a lot of you have to do.

We're going to look at, specifically, one type of reading question for the academic reading.
具體來說，我們要看的是學術類雅思閱讀部分的一種題型。
So this isn't for the general; it's for the academic reading.
所以這個視頻里講的內容針對的只是學術類閱讀，并不是廣泛適用的。
We're going to talk about the question that has to do with "true, false, or not given".
我們要討論的是和“正確，錯誤，文章中沒有提到”這類問題相關的內容。
So this is a specific question.
所以我們針對的是一個具體的題型。
It may or may not be on your test, but I think, personally, this is one of the most difficult questions on the reading section of the IELTS.
你們的試卷上可能有，也可能沒有這種題型，但是我個人認為，這是雅思考試的閱讀部分最難的題型之一。
So I'm going to give you some tips and strategies on how to do well on this section. Okay, so let's get started.
所以我今天要教你們幾個小技巧和策略來搞定這一部分。那我們開始吧。
In this section, what you are going to find is a reading passage.
在這一部分，你們將會看到一篇閱讀材料。
So you will have a long passage on maybe cybercrime, maybe food security, on the history of the Internet -- it can be on anything.
你們會看到一篇很長的文章，內容也許是網絡犯罪，也許是食品安全，也有可能是因特網的歷史......任何題材都有可能。
After the passage, there will be some statements, some facts, okay?
在文章后面會有幾個陳述句，一些事實。
What you need to do is you need to say if the fact matches -- if it's true based on the reading, if it's false based on the reading, or if the information is not given in the reading.
你們要做的就是，你們要判斷這些事實是否符合......根據文章內容來看，它們是正確的，還是錯誤的，抑或是文章中沒有提到的。
So I will explain "true", "false", "not given" in detail in just a minute.

Okay. What else to know about the "true, false, or not given"?
關于“正確、錯誤、文章中沒有提到“還有什么其他的需要了解的事情呢？
Another important thing about this question is we're not talking about the question that has to do with the writer's opinion.
關于這個題型的另一件重要的事情就是，我們在這類題型中要考慮的跟作者的觀點沒有任何關系。
There's a very similar question on the IELTS that asks about the writer's opinion.
雅思考試中還有一個跟這類題非常相似的題型，這類題考察的才是作者的觀點。
That's the "yes, no, not given". This is only on "true, false, not given", not "yes, no, not given".
那是“是、否、文章中沒有提到”這一題型。我們今天討論的只是“正確、錯誤、文章中沒有提到”，而不是“是、否、文章中沒有提到”。
