魔鬼的玩意兒
Tommy deviated from being normal when he met the devil in a detached house in the woods.
托米在森林里一個獨立 式住宅遇見魔鬼后就有 些不正常了.
"Tommy!Come here!
"托米!過來!
Let me show you something that I have devised especially for you!"
讓我給你看看我專門為 你設計的東西!"
The devil said as he detached himself from a black horse.
魔鬼一邊離開一匹黑 馬一邊說.
"Hey, you're the devil!My mom detests you!
"嘿,你是魔鬼! 我媽討厭你!
She said that you are detrimental to the health of everyone you meet!
她說你見誰就會危害 誰的健康!
She'd be devastated if I listened to you!"
要是我聽了你的話她會 氣暈的!"
"Well,just take a small detour with me then,eh?" Said the devil,
"那就和我兜個小圈, 行嗎?"魔鬼說道,
determined to influence Tommy.
他決心要影響托米.
"Look at this little device I have here."
"看看我這兒的這個 小玩藝兒.
Holding up his staff the devil took off the detachable top piece
"魔鬼把他的東西舉起 來,拿掉可拆開的頂部
and handed it to Tommy,who had always been as curious as a detective.
把它遞給托米,而托米 一直像偵探一樣好奇,
"This can change your life."
"它能改變你的生活."
"How?" Said Tommy,no longer deterred from talking with the devil.
"怎么改變?"托米說, 不再嚇得不敢跟魔鬼 說話.
"Can it give me three wishes?"
"它能讓我許三個愿 嗎?"
"Nonsense!Now be quiet and don't detract me from what I was saying.
"廢話!現在請安靜, 別使我轉移話題.
If you just keep this device you will be rich and famous.
如果你留著這個東西, 你就會又有錢又出名.
Only do not detach the lid or wash it with detergent."
只是不要打開蓋子或 用洗滌劑清洗."
And then the devil disappeared.
說完魔鬼就消失了.
From that day on Tommy always carried the device with him.
從那天起,托米總是 帶著這個玩意兒.
His former politeness disappeared
他以前的禮貌不見了,
and he became a renowned deviant.
成了有名的離經叛道者
His mother noticed his deviance, however,
但他母親注意到了他的 不正常,
and when a conversation with Tommy

quickly deteriorated into a vicious argument,

Tommy pulled out the device.She never spoke again.

Tommy did become rich；he even became famous.

But the device destroyed everything good that he came in contact with.

And while he knew that it was truly a detriment to his happiness,

he enjoyed his riches and his fame.
但他還是很喜歡他 的財富和名聲.
He could never part with it,taking it with him to the grave !
他再也離不開那玩意兒 他要一直把它帶到墳墓 里去!
