認父記
Mark met his father for the first time
馬克第一次見到了 他的父親
at the centennial celebration of the cathedral's construction.
在大教堂建成一百周年 的慶?；顒由?
Mark was catering for the calehrity- filled ceremony
當時.馬克正在為名流 云集的慶典提供食物.
when he heard a caustic voice.
忽然他聽到了尖利刺 人的聲音.
There.standing only three meters away was a man with a catching young woman
那邊.就在離他只有三 米遠的地方.站著個男 人.身邊還有個迷人的 年輕女人
He was talking on his cellular phone
男人正對著蜂窩式移動 電話講話.
about delivering some certificate as soon as possible.
說是要盡快送個什么 證書.
"No. we need it now. How can we celebrate without the main award?
"不.我們現在就要. 沒有主要獎品.我們 怎么慶祝?

Mark looked in amazement.

He knew that this was his father based on what his mother had told him.
根據母親對他講過的一 切.他知道那個男人就 是他的父親.
But Mark knew that he should proceed with cautiom.
但馬克知道. 自己必須小心行事.
His father was in a whole other category of people.
他父親完全屬于另一 類人.
Mark's mother was just a worker as was he.
母親和他一樣都是工人
His father might not even remember her!
父親也許根本就不記 得她啦!
But Mark was not so cautious.
但是馬克還是不夠謹慎
He approached the man.said who he was and waited for his father's response.
他走近那個男人. 亮明了自己的身份. 等待著對方的反應.
His father stared in surprise and then burst out in tears.
他父親驚奇地盯著他. 然后便淚如泉涌.
He wrapped his arms around Mark
他伸出雙手抱住馬克.
and said that he had been looking for him and his mother for years.
說多年來他一直在尋找 他們母子倆.
He had even searched every census.all to no avail.
甚至還查了每一次人口 普查資料.結果都沒有 奏效.
Now they were reunited.
現在他們終于團圓了.
The catching young woman smiled as well.
那個漂亮的年輕女人 也笑了.
His father introduced her and said."This is your half sister.
父親介紹說："這是你 同父異母的妹妹.
Welcome to a new family. young man!"
