"Coffee is an intriguing, attractive, appealing and creative medium to shape art. It is quite a successful experiment to use coffee to shape up old, aged or ruined subjects. Coffee painting produces perpetual sheen and aroma. The uniqueness achieved by coffee painting cannot be delivered by any other medium," declares Mira. She bases this on her experience with coffee painting. While discussing her styles, she says, "Coffee can be used similar to watercolor."
Painting with other mediums is certainly not new. A few other experiments have been done with tea, spices, or bananas by various artists. But none compares with an art work smelling of the light aroma of coffee. Mira also explains their artistic usage of clay with coffee painting. "In a few of our paintings, we used a clay base to give an embossed look, which adds more depth to the chosen theme." Her painting Coliseum is a nice example of using coffee as the best medium to construct such a historical building on canvas.
