The historical drama, Serenade of Peaceful Joy has been a trending topic since its release on April 7. It has attracted almost 7.5 billion views and over 190,000 comments on Sina Weibo by May 5.
歷史劇《清平樂》自4月7日開播以來便是一大熱門話題。截至5月5日，該劇相關話題在新浪微博上閱讀量將近75億，討論數超過19萬。
The show is adapted from the novel Held in the Lonely Castle written in 2014 by Milan Lady, with various editions published since 2008.
《清平樂》改編自作家米蘭Lady2014年出版的小說《孤城閉》，該書自2008年以來已多次再版。
The story follows Emperor Renzong, played by Wang Kai, of the Song Dynasty (960-1279) as he struggles between maintaining his ideologies of governing the country and his love for his daughter, Princess Huirou.
故事以宋仁宗（王凱飾）的一生為主線，展現了他在治國之道與對女兒徽柔公主的舐犢之情中間的掙扎。
The four-decade reign of Emperor Renzong, from 1022 to 1063, marked the high point of Song Dynasty's influences and powers. Many of the best-known writers in Chinese history lived during this period. Some of them, including Su Shi, Wang Anshi and Fan Zhongyan are featured in the series.
