Seconds later, they heard footsteps quite close by.
過了一會兒，他們聽到了一陣腳步聲，
Dumbledore, Macnair, Fudge, and the old Committee member were making their way up to the castle.
是丹伯多，馬可尼爾，法治還有老委員，他們正在返回城堡。
“Right after we'd gone down into the passage!” said Hermione. “If only Dumbledore had come with us…”
“他們一走，我們就進入了通道！”荷米恩說，“如果丹伯多曾經和我們在一起的話……”
“Macnair and Fudge would've come too,” said Harry bitterly.
“馬克尼爾和法治也會來的，”哈利痛苦的說，
“I bet you anything Fudge would've told Macnair to murder Sirius on the spot….”
“我敢說法治會竭盡所能的讓馬可尼爾當場殺死西里斯。”
They watched the four men climb the castle steps and disappear from view.
他們看著那四個人走上城堡的臺階，從視野中消失。
For a few minutes the scene was deserted. Then —
幾分鐘之同，視野里一片空闊，然后……
“Here comes Lupin!” said Harry as they saw another figure sprinting down the stone steps and halting toward the Willow.
“露平來了！”哈利說，他們看見一個人影快步走下臺階向柳樹沖去，
Harry looked up at the sky. Clouds were obscuring the moon completely.
哈利看了看天空，云彩將月亮完全遮住了。
They watched Lupin seize a broken branch from the ground and prod the knot on the trunk.
他們看見露乎從地上拿起一根樹枝，點了樹干上的那個樹節，
The tree stopped fighting, and Lupin, too, disappeared into the gap in its roots.
樹停止了亂動，然后露平也消失在根部的縫隙里。
“If he'd only grabbed the cloak,” said Harry. “It's just lying there….” He turned to Hermione.
“如果他抓起了斗篷，‘”哈利說，“它就放在那兒……”他轉向荷米恩。
“If I just dashed out now and grabbed it, Snape'd never be able to get it and —”“Harry, we mustn't be seen!”

“How can you stand this?” he asked Hermione fiercely.

“Just standing here and watching it happen?” He hesitated. “I'm going to grab the cloak!” “Harry, no!”

Hermione seized the back of Harry's robes not a moment too soon. Just then, they heard a burst of song.
荷米恩剛好抓住了哈利背后的的飽子。與此同時，他們聽到了一陣歌聲，
